Drill Rig Electrical Control System Solution

Drill Rig Electrical Control System Solution

Solution Details:

Drill Rigs are specialized equipment used for excavation by rotary drilling to create boreholes and reverse reaming. Powered by dual systems (internal combustion engine and electric motor), these machines are versatile, not only drilling vertical shafts in underground mining but also performing horizontal drilling for ventilation shafts in railway tunnels, access tunnels for hydroelectric projects, underground storage facilities, and vertical shafts.

Drill Rig Electrical Control System Solution

SonnePower has developed an advanced electrical control system for drill rig, using the SPC-SFMC-X3632A as the primary controller. This system integrates the SPC-SDIO-0032 I/O module, SPD-070-A display, and a belt-style remote controller, all connected via CAN bus to handle functions such as movement, positioning, pilot hole drilling, reaming, and auxiliary operations.

The SPC-SFMC-X3632A controller collects data from multiple hydraulic pressure points and manipulator position sensors to control power start/stop, speed adjustment, drill head feeding, retraction, rotation, and manipulator actions.

The SPC-SDIO-0032 module manages support leg movements, clamp plate operations, and alarm indicators.

The SPD-070-A display acts as the HMI (human-machine interface) for debugging and fault diagnostics.

System Features

Automatic Drill Rod Handling:

Accurate, practical, and efficient handling reduces operator difficulty and increases efficiency. Automation protects drill rod threads and minimizes construction costs.

Automatic Pressure System Selection:

The system adjusts pressure settings based on operating conditions, ensuring safety and smooth operations.

Wireless Remote Control with Display:

A wireless remote with an integrated display provides clear visibility of operating parameters and enhances operator field of view.

Human-Machine Interface (HMI):

The HMI simplifies offline debugging and fault diagnostics, reducing maintenance downtime.

High-Reliability Components:

The system uses reliable components, with an electrical control cabinet equipped with a dehumidification device to ensure stability.

Dual Power Supply System:

The dual low-voltage power supply allows the machine to charge its batteries using grid power when the battery is depleted.

Comprehensive High-Voltage Protection:

Features protections for phase loss, phase mismatch, overcurrent, and overvoltage. The motor uses a star-delta startup to reduce inrush current.
